MAXIMIZING OPPORTUNITIES
Opportunities are everywhere.
I would love to share my story with you!
April 1st was my sister's birthday. Her friend, Olateru Joseph came over to our house with his camera.
That was the first time I was going to operate a camera.
While I held the camera, Joseph told me that touching his camera will stir up interest in photography.
And to my surprise, after I touched that camera, I just wanted to know how to take pictures, edit them, and just do something beautiful with pictures.
I reached out to Deyon Deyon Gandonu that I wanted to learn how to take pictures and how to edit them. He told me few things to focus on and that was how I started.
I went for a vigil and they said they needed someone to use the camera. I had little idea of how to use the camera.
I was never going to accept defeat. That was how I toured round the camera and started taking pictures.
I got stuck at some point and immediately I looked across and saw a lady that knew how to take pictures. Funny enough, she was not willing to work that night, so I was left to sort out the camera and its operations.
That was how the journey started!
The most important thing is, opportunities came my way that I maximized.
Taking pictures wasn’t enough, I had to put my hands on editing. I got Lightroom and Photoshop on my system. I downloaded videos on YouTube and that was how I started editing pictures.
I'm not perfect, trust me, but I'm on my way to perfection.
3 weeks ago, my elder brother had a new baby and he called me to be his photographer. I was really glad. I graced that occasion, took the pictures, edited all the pictures and sent it all to him. He was really happy and trust me, I was happy he was satisfied with what I did.
Trust me, I'm grateful for every opportunity to serve. I do not take any for granted.
That was how my journey started.
As I said earlier, opportunities are everywhere, but not everyone takes full advantage of them. Maximizing opportunities means being ready and willing to take action when they present themselves.
